Here you can find some links to some of the people and/or groups who have been instrumental in the creation of the Museum, are affiliated with the UWI Museum and the University, and/or show support in the promotions and development of the museum.
Collaborators at the Start:
We’d like to make special mention of some of the people who pitched in to get the new UWI Museum on its feet.
Advice
The US firm of Staples & Charles helped with advice relating to some of the technical decisions.
Task Force
Outside of the UWI establishment, a small task force agreed to be on call. They included Set Designer Paul Hamilton, Manager and former curator Lisa Harrison, UWI Retiree and Memory Joy Pilgrim, and Heritage Studies MA student Lorna Bailey.
UWI
Within UWI, the interest was abounding and the efforts to track treasures took some people into dusty crevices and efforts of memory. The UWI Archive and the Main Library, including the West Indies Collection – across the UWI campuses – were collaborative. Other units giving a hand with logistical or other inputs included the Radio Education Unit/Library of the Spoken Word, the Caribbean Institute of Media & Communication (CARIMAC), the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, the Mona
Information Technology Services (MITS) and the Chapel Management Committee.
Institute of Jamaica
Jamaica’s veteran museum entity listened willingly to a request for space planning input, coming on a site visit and then collaborating to bring ideas on the museum to life as a two-dimensional floor plan and 3-D views.
Digicel
Display cases capable of being re-purposed were made available by Digicel Group, helping the museum over an early hurdle.
A Growing List
UWI Museum would like to say a big Thank You to all who have been involved; whether or not you are on this list as it is still growing.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a
pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% positive. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Appreciate it
